FAQ and Commissions

-Are you self-taught?
Yes! Through inspiration, tutorials, references, etc
-What kind of content you make?
Well....any. As of now, I'm making more original content in regards to world-building, making ocs, etc more than inkblot disease content. I guess I kinda wanna create something different, I guess? But yeah I still do fanart sometimes.
-What you want to be in the future?
I really don't know let's be honest, I guess a designer, animator/storyboard artist, cartoonist, and video editor! I also want to be a programmer/web designer but more on freelancing stuff...
Still undecided but I might either do a career or just a self creator...
-What program do you use for music?
FL Studio and LMMS
(FL Studio has a mobile app, so that's Epic)
-What Programs you use for animation?
I use a variety but I mostly use FireAlpaca, Krita, CSP, and Blender.
I have other programs such as Pencil2d, Synfig Studio, and OpenToonz but I rarely use them for various reasons. (Either I’m still getting used to the compatibility or not a huge fan of it) On mobile, I use Flipaclip.-Do you do requests?
Somewhat! Though there could be limits. (Mutuals and pals, feel free to request though!!)
-Do you do art trades?
For mutuals only!
-Do you have commissions open?
I'll announce whenever my commissions are available. You can always look at my commission status and information here!
Can I draw your OCs/FCs/Sonas/ draw fanart?
YES!! YOU CAN!! I love to see everyone's art!
[I tagged you on my art but I don't think you noticed... :(]{LightBlue}
It's very likely because my notifs are cluttered. So if I don't see it around 2-3 days, be sure to dm me!
-How do you do the glitch effects on gifs?
I use Photomosh, Blender, and/or Wondershare Filmora. I sometimes use the glitch effects within my art program or draw it by hand. =]
-Can we add image descriptions (Photo IDs) on your art?
Absolutely!! Please do! I tend to request from other people because I'm not very good at describing images for photo IDs. I try to add alt text to my works. So if you guys provided an ID I'll make sure to reblog it!

The four divisions are referred to as a ‘Category.’Categories are assigned system standards on the class type.Under these categories are ’Classes,’ which are levels ofinformation that familiarizes us with how the ailmentsfunction depending on the intensity and/or functionality. The four categories are defined as:
Potency
Transmissibility
Phenomena
Scale

*PTPS Icons credit: sunscreens-and-chickens

Potency: This category determines how lethal or curable the ailment is:

Passive- The ailment is classified to be easily treatable, cured, and prevented and it shows no drastic threat to the public.

Mansuetum- Ailments that are in need of precautions and careful treatment. They may be hazardous or life-threatening, but with proper treatment, the malady will remain under control until it is fully cleansed.

Erraticus- Ailments of this class are rather unpredictable. Complications during treatment are prevalent, especially if the disease is not treated promptly. Preventing their spread is complicated, and treatment is often slow.

Letalis- Ailments of this class are extremely dangerous and hard to control, and have a high mortality rate. Treatment is difficult, inconsistent, or poorly understood, and patients may take extended periods of time to recover if they do so at all.

Transmissibility: The Transmissibility category list off whether the disease can be pass on to another organism or through genetic means. This goes along if it spreads through bodily fluids or direct physical contact.

Inherent - Diseases that are person-specific. They cannot be spread to others, even intentionally. Genetic diseases and cancers fall under this category.

Transmissible - Diseases in this category can be transferred to others - however, their spread is easily contained, given precautions. Diseases spread by body fluids are considered Transmissible.

Contagious - These diseases are highly transmissible; reliable avoidance is complicated to impossible. Infections must usually be quarantined to prevent transmission to others.

Phenomena: In this category, Phenomena describes how understandable or supernatural the ailments are; whether it can be understood by the basic laws of nature and science or acts in defiance of them.

Normalem- Symptoms and causes are considered to be tangible or pose no abnormalities that defy the basic laws of nature.

Enigma- Symptoms that are not understood or confine to the natural laws, but the origins of causes are explainable.

Occult- Symptoms and causes that have abnormalities that are unexplained or beyond the natural law.

Span: The Span category determines how illnesses translate across species.

Locus- Locus diseases are highly specialized; they are asymptomatic in non-target species or cannot infect them at all.

Area- These diseases operate on a broader range of species, and often cause lesser symptoms even in non-target individuals. They frequently make use of asymptomatic carriers.

Ripple- Ripple-class diseases can affect any species that has relevant traits. They operate similarly to identically on any species that has the prerequisite features i.e. bones, chitin, chemosensitivity.

Boundless- Boundless diseases have identical effects on all statistically relevant species.

The Inkblot Disease

Content warning for body horror, minor gore, medical talk, and some horror elements.-What’s the “Inkblot Disease”It’s a fictional disease on a Splatoon AU verse I've been working on since 2017-2018
It affects mostly ink-producing organisms(mostly inklings and octolings) that causes their body to slowly melt into black ink until they completely become eldritch-like monster creature. More info is found here Content warning for body horror. (As of 3/1/2021, the inkblot disease has been revamped, so I encourage everyone to reblog the updated version linked above]
-What kind of pathogen is it?
Originally it was a bacterium but now in the revamped version, its a virus.
-What’s a Cephalamgam?
A blended, mixture of Inklings/Octolings amalgamated into one monster.
-Who’s Zero?.
The Main antagonist the first to get infected by inkblot. It's the most powerful among the blots. Has a God-complex and nihilistic mindset. He's not a "Big Boss" of the blots by the way, just a major threat.
-Is it a Hivemind?
In some way(?) They all have individualistic personalities while can have collective thoughts. So I wouldn't say a complete hivemind, rather they share a common destructive goal.
-Is there a cure for the disease? As long you have it right away before reaching the terminal stage, then yes, There’s an antiviral treatment called Antrapurmycin used for treatment. There's also Contaminated Ink Replacement Treatment (CIRT) which uses a tubed machine to replace the inkblot into the container of the machine while the other tube injects clean ink into the patient. Keep in mind treatment must be done before the patient goes terminal. The difficulty of treatment depends on the stages the patient is currently in.-How long are the symptoms??Stage 1 (Early Symptoms)- Usually around a week or twoStage 2 (Later stages)- 2 weeks (or 4 days if the patient’s malady isn’t properly contained)Stage 3 (Terminal stage)- This one is a major pain in the but to contain it, the inkblot will consume your body in hours, even seconds. If contained, it will take days.

-1a)How do the Cephalmagams interact with non-ink species?Cephalmagams are not much of a threat unless they’re an enormous monster. To the creature, their victims are their course meal.

1b) Can Non-ink-based species get infected by the inkblot? Most of the time, the pathogen doesn’t affect them. If a stain ends up in their body, it just stays there. It’ll be a nuisance to get rid of the sticky substance but so far it’s not very lethal. However, if the tainted dink is ingested by the mouth, can lead to ink poisoning and organ failure if not treated right away. Good examples can be found here and here!

-1c)What about Octarians? If an Octarian gets infected, they’ll become contaminated beings known as Tainted Octarians. Their bodies turn into a monochromatic color, including their eyes, It even becomes the host of the amalgamated inkling/octoling, basically under its control. They can submerge and spawn out from the Cephamalgam, ordered by the hivemind.

-How do they interact with the sanitized/can the sanitized be infected? The Sanitized gain some sort of resistance from the inkblot, meaning it takes longer for the symptom stages. So it takes longer for the inkblot to consume them, which is enough time to get treatment before they reach their terminal stage.-Can the Cephamalgam dissolve in water (and underwater)? The inkblot doesn’t completely dissolve, more like some ink runs off. The inkblot has a different consistency than normal ink; thicker and stickier. The Cephamalgam ends up floating as traces of its ink contaminated. As for underwater, the amalgamated creature has a hard time retaining its form + swimming underwater. Here are some mentions here and here!

-Is it heat resistant?Fire can be useful to weaken the cephamalgam but doesn’t kill it. As for explosive the creature still remains intact but can take immersive damage before it reforms itself.-Can freezing kill the inkblot/Cephalmagam?Well, I wouldn’t say kill since it can’t hold on to the blot forever. Though it’s a solution for containing and “killing” the blot, it’s not an indefinite solution. Either the ice melts or breaks, the inkblot will become active again, though it ends up being temporarily slow on motor skills depending on the extended periodic time of being frozen.-How does electricity affect inkblot?
It doesn’t kill it, rather it weakens it. Electrotherapy was a top solution to “kill” off inkblot before a proper cure was made. Inspired by this person’s headcanon + more of the details here as well!
-Is it possible for an ink-based organism to be completely immune to inkblot? It’s a rare occurrence but there are chances that patients can be immune to the inkblot pathogen. Either they’re immune to the point it takes longer for symptoms to be present (which is easier for them to get cured in an earlier state) or, like patient 2405, have complete immunity from being assimilated. Then again, it’s rare to find fellow patients with this anomaly.-I wanna make an Inkblot OC but I’m worried that I accidentally make a blackface/whitewash them. What Should I do?I made a little helpful guide to avoid that. Sincerely, your local black artist:

Is it okay to make fanfics and fanart on your AU?ABSOLUTELY but PLEASE don't do anything gross. I'm all for exploring dark themes but please dont romanticize gross stuff or anything problematic... It makes me very uncomfortable. Be sure to add content warnings and use the #inkblot disease tag (or #splat diseases If it's not inkblot related!) So it would clutter the main splatoon tag!Can I make my own Splatoon Disease?Sure thing! Also here's a list of the diseases not only from me but from many other creative people! Just to clear things up 1. Please don't use or rely on ableist tropes and 2. Don't refer to neurodivergent disorders and mental illnesses as "diseases." In fact, don't even make neurological disorders and mental illness
under the tag IN GENERAL. As a mentally ill person with autism, it makes me so uncomfortable and it's very insensitive, especially for those who have it as well. If you want to make a disorder that's fine, but don't put it under the #splat diseases tag, rather put it under the #SplatMD tag. I'm all for creative freedom, but please do your research and make sure your Splat Disease isn't harmful!
Can I use the main tag (#Splatoon)
Hmmm, as much as I want y'all, I rather not use the main tag, reasons just to avoid the clutter. It's okay to tag other stuff like #Inkling and #Octoling, especially when posting your ocs, but not the main Splatoon tag. I suggest using these alternatives:
#Inkblot Disease #Splat Diseases #Splatoon AU #Inkblotoon
-What can I do with the Inkblot Disease/Can I make an AU within it?/Make Fanart?
You CAN absolutely make fanart, ocs, fan writing, and headcanons about Inkblot!
Just a disclaimer, I don't want AUs made about Inkblot, since it is already an AU of its own. Crossover art for fun is fine and writing inkblot scenarios for y'all's OCs is fine! It's just I rather not have shoehorning stuff on my AU. Hope you all understand ^^
